Attention all 8th graders in NJHS! If you are purchasing a medallion for graduation, be sure to turn in your money to Mrs. Gates or Mrs. Doyle by May 27th.

Those who are eligible for this medallion must have been in NJHS for two trimesters, one of them being the third trimester. The medal costs $19.00 and may be

The medallion costs $19.00 and may be paid for by cash or check.

Purchasing the medallion is not required; students can borrow a medallion for the ceremony as long as they are returned immediately after.

Stress is something most people deal with, especially students. Some stress is good, as it helps people prepare for the future. However, adverse and excessive stress can destroy a person’s well-being, mentally and physically.

According to Mayo Clinic, side effects of stress include headaches, muscle tension, fatigue, and sleep problems. Stress also causes anxiety, lack of motivation or focus, frustration, and depression, while also causing people to overeat/undereat, grow isolated, and exercise less. More…

8th Grade Promotion Requirements Reply

8th Grade Promotion is being held on June 16, but only for students meeting promotion standards. To gain the Diploma, students need a 2.0 higher overall GPA in 7th and 8th grade and a 75% attendance. For the Certificate of Attendance, students need a 1.5 – 1.99 cumulative GPA and a 75% attendance.

Students must also pay off any  debts (such as library books, Chromebooks, lunch money, etc.). Additionally, students with too many absences, tardies, discipline referrals, or that have not secured a GPA of 1.5 or higher in 8th grade may be excluded from promotion. More…
