You all know Disneyland, right? Well, Walt Disney’s very own Toontown has turned 25.
What is Toontown, you may ask? Toontown is a “themed land” at Disneyland here in California where visitors can meet the characters and visit their homes which are constructed in a cartoonish style. It was inspired by “Toontown” in the 1988 film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, in which cartoon characters live alongside humans.
Here in this land, you may run around and climb on many of the cartoon-styled structures scattered about. Hop into Lenny the Cab in “Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin” for a wild ride through the streets of Toontown. Meet Mickey and Minnie in their very own adorable houses. Zip around on “Gadget’s Go Coaster” for a fun roller coaster ride in the imaginative town.
On January 24th, Disneyland celebrated its silver anniversary of Toontown. To celebrate, there were special character appearances and photo ops. Additionally, cast members were handing out trading cards to all of the collectors and Disney fans.
