25th Anniversary of ToonTown! 1

Caitlyn Timmons

You all know Disneyland, right? Well, Walt Disney’s very own Toontown has turned 25.

What is Toontown, you may ask? Toontown is a “themed land” at Disneyland here in California where visitors can meet the characters and visit their homes which are constructed in a cartoonish style. It was inspired by “Toontown” in the 1988 film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, in which cartoon characters live alongside humans.

Here in this land, you may run around and climb on many of the cartoon-styled structures scattered about. Hop into Lenny the Cab in “Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin” for a wild ride through the streets of Toontown. Meet Mickey and Minnie in their very own adorable houses. Zip around on “Gadget’s Go Coaster” for a fun roller coaster ride in the imaginative town.

On January 24th, Disneyland celebrated its silver anniversary of Toontown. To celebrate, there were special character appearances and photo ops. Additionally, cast members were handing out trading cards to all of the collectors and Disney fans.

  1. My favorite memory was last September when I went to Disneyland with by BBFFFFFFFFFFF. We visited ToonTown and went on pretty much everything that needed a MaxPass. So we booked a MaxPass for the last ride that we hadn’t been on which was “Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin”. While we waited for our MaxPass time, we rode “Gadget’s Go Coaster”. We both had a blast booking into the MaxPass cue as I scanned my phone and she scanned her park ticket on the brown tower which turns green. That is 100000% my favorite memory at ToonTown 🙂
