Jack Carson made it back to school with many not too far behind him. A group behind him running as fast as they could to complete their 3-mile run. “Good job,” Jack said out of breath and sweaty, as the rest finished up. This is a scenario that usually happens during Mr.Yohn’s running club.
Running Club consists of running from 3-5 miles throughout the school year. Girls and boys can both join Running Club as long as they don’t mind running.
To be part of Running Club you just have to ask Mr. Yohn for the waiver and join before it gets too late. Since Running Club started on the 10th, if you’re going to join do it as soon as possible.
In Running Club, you will run off campus or on campus. Usually, the longer distances are off campus and on Tuesday mornings at 6:40 a.m. On Wednesday after school, the club usually will do whatever Mr. Yohn plans, long distance or short. On Thursday mornings at 6:40 a.m. the club will do what Mr. Yohn calls “conditioning.” During conditioning, you do multiple different exercises like planks, sprints, and running up and down the stairs.
Even though the running club is hard work, it is a great experience that will help you get in shape.
Don’t wait until it is too late and join Running Club.
