Poll: What Elective Did You Choose? 20

Mariah Escatel

Electives. The one class that students get to pick. Here at Stacey, we offer lots of different choices for students, some of which require an application, like Journalism or Yearbook, while others don’t, like Art or Spanish.

  1. Mariah, you put the title wrong. Did is in past tense, so chose should be in present tense. Two verbs cannot be in the past tense unless they are 2 action verbs. The correct title is “Poll:What Elective did you choose?”

      • I think is “chose” not “choose” because we already decided what our electives would be for next year.

    • I wrote the title exactly the same as “the correct title” that you wrote. My title is, “Poll: What Elective Did You Choose?” Your “correct title’ is, Poll: What Elective Did You Chose?” They are the exact same thing.

    • Also, Andy, while you ar giving your “Mini-grammar lesson” I thought I would go ahead and nit-pick on your spelling. In your first comment you said, “Mariah, you put the title wrong. Did is in past tense, so chose should be in present tense.” What does ” Did is in past tense. . .” mean?

  2. LOL, I just realized the difference between the two, Chose vs Choose. Ignore my previous comment above about how they are the same thing.
