With the United States leaking intelligence, the United States has managed to upset one of our closest allies. This raises concerns about ruining the trust of informational partners. Just days after President Donald Trump was reported to have revealed highly sensitive, likely Israeli-shared intelligence to Russian officials in the Oval Office, the United Kingdom is voicing its frustration over leaked information coming from US sources.

With the President repeatedly sharing sensitive information with another country, the UK is now very upset with the US. UK Home Secretary Amber Rudd slammed US leaks on the investigation into the attack at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, as “irritating” on Wednesday after a string of details emerged from US law enforcement sources before they were released by British police or officials. “The British police have been very clear that they want to control the flow of information in order to protect toperational integrity, the element of surprise,” Rudd told BBC Radio 4’s “Today” program. “So it is irritating if it gets released from other sources, and I have been very clear with our friends that that should not happen again.” And when asked if the leaks from US officials had compromised the ongoing investigation, Rudd said she “wouldn’t go that far.” More…

On a small uninhabited island, researchers have discovered it has been harboring 38 million pieces of trash.

Henderson Island is a designated world heritage site because of bird life and is a part of the U.K Pitcairn island territory. It is located in the middle of the South Pacific Gyre ocean current making it a bullseye for debris carried in the ocean current.

The island has the highest density of plastic debris than anywhere reported on earth. According to Proceedings of Nationals Academic of Science, a study has estimated, 17 tons of plastic debris washed up on Henderson Island, with more than 3,570 new pieces of litter arriving every day on the one beach alone. From flutes to trombones, to trumpets, Stacey has them all. But, aside from all the classical music, there is a group with an instrument that might be the best instrument for the beach. Ukulele Club!

The seven club members meet every Thursday from 3:00-4:00 pm in H1 to learn and practice with their Ukuleles to sound very professional. Here’s the history behind it all:

Mr. Thorsen, the instructor of the club, said that quite a few students start out in Ukulele Club, but eventually leave. This is due to their interest in other clubs. He said the group usually starts out with around 25 to 30 students. The ones that remain truly love their instrument. More…

Don’t Stick It In Your Ear! 4

Cotton swabs have been known as a hazardous thing to put into the ear for a long time, yet people still do it. They should not be stuck into the ear! It even has a precaution sign on the box labeled “Do not insert swab into ear canal.” Over a 21 year study, the most common diagnoses were the presence of a foreign body in the ear and eardrum perforation.

The ear canal has specialized cells that produce cerumen also known as earwax. When people feel the need to get rid of the earwax, they use a cotton swab or something small to get rid of it. Don’t! The eardrum is easily reached with a swab. Because the eardrum is so delicate, it can be easily ruptured by using even the gentlest pressure. It cuts ear canals and can even dislocate the hearing bones. Some of these things can lead to hearing loss, dizziness, ringing, or other symptoms of ear injury. The pain is severe and the ear may also leak a clear liquid. More…

Kelsey Bisetti

Why did Trump really fire Comey? Was it because he refused to pledge his allegiance to our president? Or was it due to a few simple recommendations? This is the question dominating every headline in America. But first, a bit of background.

Wait a second, who’s Comey?

Comey, A.K.A. James Brien Comey, was FBI director for nearly four years before his ten-year contract was abruptly terminated by Donald Trump.

What exactly happened to him?

It’s actually kind of a funny story. Apparently, there was some major confusion when it came to informing Comey of his misfortune. Nobody bothered telling him he was fired. Instead, he found out while he was delivering a speech to FBI employees in LA on May 9th when he saw a news clip flash behind the crowd.   More…

According to Billboard Top 100, this is the hot top ten for this week in May 2017!

Tenth place: “It Aint Me” by Kygo x Selena Gomez. Ok! This song was in 10th place last week as well, so it doesn’t seem like it is moving. We’ll consider this a good thing!

Number nine is “XO Tour Life” by Lil Uzi Vert. Just like “It Ain’t Me,” this song had stayed in the same position as well. Again, a good thing! More…
