Full S.T.E.A.M. ahead! OC Fair Imaginology is featuring Science Technology Engineering Arts Mathematics related exhibits and hands-on activities for everyone at OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa. It is a free admission event lasting from April 15 to 17. The entry deadline is Friday, March 25.
It opens 9 AM to 3 PM on Fridays, and Saturdays and Sundays are available to the public from 10 AM to 5 PM. General parking is $8 on Saturdays and Sundays with the exception of Field Trip Day.
Many activities are featured daily; some will be about the life of a farmer and the agricultural industry. For children 8 and under, they will have a chance to plant and harvest vegetables, dress as a farmer and even pretend to care for the “sick” animals in Pet Vet. Everyone will have a chance to watch a live blacksmith demonstration, see animals and insects, and more.
The fair also offers an opportunity to create a video game console and learn programming code with LameStationLLC. Ocean Institute will help you design and model a bathyscaph (submersible vessel) and observe the principles of the ocean’s buoyancy.
This year, the OC Fair provides a chance to decorate flutes and bring them home. Learn to sew with assistance or the special art of origami at Origami for Fun.
Pre-K to 12th grade will have a chance to enter the contests. Divisions for the competitions are crafts, fiber arts, fine arts, photography, poetry, science and engineering, and video.
The Academic Chess Tournament of Champions is on Saturday, April 16th, starting at 1 PM- 4 PM.
