Three winning tickets were sold Wednesday night in Chino Hills, California, Florida, and Tennessee. The winning numbers were 08, 27, 34, 04, and 19, and the Powerball was 10.
The odds of winning the $1.6 billion jackpot were one in 292 million. Each of the winning tickets carries winnings of about $528.8 million. Once tax is subtracted and the winnings are split three ways, each winner will take home $187.2 million, according to CNN Money.
If the winners put those winnings into a government bond, each one could get about $5.3 million each year for the next 30 years.
After tweeting it sold a winning ticket, California also announced the selling of 12 tickets matching five of the six numbers.
Balbir Atwal, owner of the 7-Eleven on Chino Hills Parkway where the ticket was sold, will receive a $1 million bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Previously, the record lottery drawing was a total of $656 million from Mega Millions, which also split to three winners.
