On the 3rd and 4th of December, Mrs. Redmond hosted a competition for her 8th grade history classes. This competition involved the preamble of the Declaration of Independance as part of their Constitution Unit.
The goal of the competition between the classes was to help them memorise the preamble with an enjoyable activity.
Taman Tran writes,”The whole Preamble competition was really fun to be in, with all the big prizes (free lunch party!) and all, of course. The one thing I didn’t like, however, was the fact that a lot of my other classmates were too lazy or didn’t bother to put in any effort. I just want to take it seriously, though still having fun.”
Jennifer Tran states,”It was fun to see our classmate messing up and how we improve in the last round.”
To begin the game, the class spread out in a U-formation. The first person said his or her word(s) fast as possible. Then the next person did it and so on. Each class has three tries for a chance to win a prize with the fastest time.
