I Will Never Do Better Than This – Quang Truong’s Horrific Guide to This Week’s “Useful” News Nov. 9 – Nov. 13 – Red for the Blood of the Rich Reply

Tidal-youtube1) #TidalForAll? More like #TidalForTheRich

This past year, we have seen the boom of the music industry, particularly in the form of monthly subscription of companies such as Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora and many others.

But these also have a free version with the same benefits of music enjoyment, unlike a new company, Tidal. Tidal is owned by a multitude of artists, including Jay-Z, Beyonce, Madonna, and others.

There are three options when downloading Tidal. One, a $10 per month plan with standard streaming and crystal clear music video quality. Another, the $20 per month plan with crystal clear music video quality and “amazing” sound quality.

However, if both plans are too expensive, then the last choice is a free version, where the only feature is to stare at the music videos- without the music.

Tidal has been used by many artists as an exclusive platform for music and content. For example, Beyonce released her song and video “Die With You” and her music video for “Feeling Myself (feat. Nicki Minaj)” on Tidal. Rihanna also used Tidal to premiere her song and video for “American Oxygen.”

Many do not approve of Tidal and say it is only for those who can afford to pay $240 a year for music, but others say it is revolutionary and amazing. On the podcast, “Psychobabble with Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl”, Tyler Oakley said during a conversation on Tidal, “Nothing is revolutionary until it is accessible to the poor. … and this is very relevant now that Tidal is around.”

2) No Way Youtube. Not you too.

Youtube released a subscription plan called Youtube Red. This plan is $10 a month, but doesn’t offer much more than anything you can find for free somewhere else.

Youtube Red allows viewers to save videos to watch at another time and includes Background Play, which is the ability to listen to content with your device off or while using other apps.

Thirdly, the upgrade includes no ads. That’s right. No. Ads. Viewers are able to simply watch the video without any interruption whatsoever. Some say this new program is worth it, and other say not.

That’s it for now and I’ll see you next week in my kingdom. Don’t forget to read the other articles on the site!
