A New “Kind” of Campus Reply

Leah Kurihara and Leandra Gimenez

The challenge, presented by Brian Williams from the “Think Kind” organization, is for Stacey cougars to create a kindness explosion by collecting 2,000 shoes for students in Africa and $2,000 to purchase a new bus for IMA, an all girls’ school in Guatemala, by Oct. 16th.

Something as simple as an old pair of shoes or a handful of change may not seem like a big deal, but for some it is. Without shoes, the children receiving the shoes in Africa are unable to attend school. Giving them shoes, gives them the gift of education and a better future.

Additionally, IMA is an organization that is funded solely by donation. Because their last bus broke down, many girls haven’t been attending school because of the long walk. A new bus allows these girls a chance at a better life.

An additional contest between girls and boys as to who can raise the most is also in effect. Please donate money outside of G2B.
